FEAST OF THE BIRRARUNG RIVERS SECRETS
“Feast of the Birrarung River’s Secrets” is an immersive dining experience that raises awareness of the Yarra River’s ecological crisis through participatory engagement. Participants take on the roles of river species and taste dishes made from edible materials mimicking pollutants. With visual simulation devices, they experience the world from each species’ perspective, revealing the impacts of industrial waste, plastic debris, and urbanization. The publication records the project’s research, concept development, menu design, and public feedback, illustrating how design can transform environmental issues into tangible, reflective experiences.
河宴奇食
《河宴奇食》是一项以沉浸式餐饮体验为核心的社会设计项目，旨在通过互动参与唤起公众对墨尔本雅拉河生态危机的关注。参与者将在活动中随机扮演河流生态系统中的某一物种（如植物、鱼类、鸟类或鸭嘴兽），品尝由可食用材料（如翻糖，鸡蛋，薯条等）制成的造型仿污染物的菜肴，并佩戴视觉模拟装置，从不同生物的视角切身体验其所面临的生存困境，感受工业废物、塑料垃圾与城市化对生态环境的威胁。 出版物完整记录了项目的研究与实施过程，包括前期调研、概念发展、活动策划、菜单设计、视觉传播及反馈系统等内容。通过角色扮演、感官体验与反思讨论的结合，项目成功将复杂的环境议题转化为可感知的公众体验，展现了设计作为社会倡导与生态教育工具的潜力。
