














The Slacking Off Guideline
Young people today face significant work pressure, making "slacking off" a humorous topic of interest. I came across an article describing how recognizing a boss’s footsteps could help employees slack off effectively—quickly returning to work as footsteps approach and relaxing again when they fade.
Inspired by this, I created an interactive device using Arduino to detect players’ footsteps and Processing to visualize them with lights. In Chinese, "slacking off" also sounds like "fishing"; if the light touches a swimming fish on the display, it signifies a successful "slacking off" moment. This device encourages occasional relaxation to boost efficiency, supporting a healthy balance between work and rest.

当代年轻人面临巨大的工作压力,“摸鱼”已成为一个有趣的热门话题。我曾看到一篇网文,分享了如何通过识别老板脚步声来高效摸鱼的经验——听到老板脚步声接近,迅速停止摸鱼投入工作;听到脚步声渐远,再次放松。
受此启发,我设计了一个互动装置来表达这一现象。通过Arduino编程获取玩家脚步的重量和方向,并用Processing输出灯光,直观呈现脚步轨迹。当灯光触及屏幕上游动的鱼时,即象征的“摸鱼成功”。
适当的放松其实有助于提高工作效率,我希望这个互动装置能帮助年轻人下班后放松身心,也期待管理者鼓励员工在工作与休息间找到平衡。
