A WORLD TO INHERIT
ECHOES OF PINYIN is part of a world to inherit, an exhibition presented through MAV’s Powered By program at No Vacancy Gallery. Curated by Bea Rubio-Gabriel with text by Adrian Jing Song, the exhibition brings together artists Kay Abude, Phuong Ngo, Nicholas Currie, Jess Tanto, Sancintya Mohini Simpson, and The Dining Group.
The exhibition looks at how personal and cultural inheritances shape our ways of seeing and relating to each other. Within this context, ECHOES OF PINYIN explores the influence of the Pinyin system on cross-linguistic identity. Through experimental type design, it turns the physical act of pronunciation into visual form, reflecting how language learning leaves emotional and cultural traces that continue to shape communication.
该展览由 MAV 的 Powered By 项目支持,并在 No Vacancy Gallery 举办,由 Bea Rubio-Gabriel 策划,Adrian Jing Song 撰写展览文本,参展艺术家包括 Kay Abude、Phuong Ngo、Nicholas Currie、Jess Tanto、Sancintya Mohini Simpson 以及 The Dining Group。
YARRA RIVER KEEPER
The Communication Design for Social Change course collaborated with the Yarra Riverkeeper Association to curate a design exhibition aimed at reducing stormwater waste and pollution entering the Yarra River (Birrarung River). Presented as part of the inaugural Birrarung Riverfest in September 2024, the exhibition was showcased at the Waste Not. Want Not event held at the Greenline Project Hub.
As part of this event, our group presented an installation that visualised the main pollutants affecting the Yarra River and illustrated their impact on aquatic species. The work invited the public to reflect on how everyday waste harms ecosystems and to consider individual responsibility in protecting the river’s ecological health.
Want Not 中呈现。
